  • What is the Student Alumni Association ?
    • The Student Alumni Association, SAA for short, is an organization that promotes strong student and alumni relationships through programming and service to the university. We work closely with and directly under the GSU Alumni Association to help facilitate the transition from student to alumni, while helping students to build a lifelong bond to Georgia State University. The Student Alumni Association holds a great sense of pride and tradition in the University and with the affiliation of the Alumni Association, is able to promote this through a variety of activities and programs.
  • How much does it cost for a SAA membership? Do I only pay once?
    • $20. This can be paid via cash, check, credit card, or you can charge it to your student account/financial aid. The membership is annual and must be renewed every academic year to remain active. We do not auto-renew so it is up to you when and how you want to renew your membership
  • Why do I have to pay to be a SAA member?
    • SAA is self-funded organization. We do not receive any student fee funding to operate and therefore rely on funding from membership fees, the Alumni Association, and other sponsors such as Georgia's Own Credit Union
  • Who is eligible for SAA membership?
    • Any current GSU undergraduate or graduate students. If you are about to graduate at the endof the current semester, you will need to join the Alumni Association.
  • I went online to join SAA. How do I get my membership items?
    • Print the confirmation page or the the confirmation email you received and bring it to our office to receive your membership items. We are located at the GSU Alumni Center- 60 Piedmont Avenue NE. To gain access into the building, please press the call button located to the right of the front door. A staff member will let you in and assist you.
  • What is the SAA Board of Directors (SAA-BOD)?
    • SAA-BOD stands for the Student Alumni Association- Board of Directors. This is the group of student leaders known as the governing body of SAA. Visit our Meet the Board of Directors page to learn more about the Board of Directors and what they do.
  • How can I be apart of the SAA-BOD?
    • BoD recruitment takes place every Fall semester. You can find the requirements for joining the Board of Directors, dates for our informational sessions,  and access the online application on our Join the Board of Directors page.
