What is CASE?
CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education)
is an international association of educational institutions.
It is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. CASE helps its members build stronger relationships with their alumni and donors, raise funds for campus projects, produce recruitment materials, market their institutions to prospective students, diversify the profession, and foster public support of education. The Alumni Association is an active member of CASE District III.
What is CASE ASAP?
CASE ASAP (CASE Affiliated Student Advancement Programs)
is comprised of student alumni associations, student foundations, and similar organizations from more than 300 CASE member institutions. Its goal is to foster and enhance student involvement in all areas of advancement—from alumni relations and communications to fundraising, marketing and related areas. CASE ASAP also supports the advancement profession by alerting students and their advisers of advancement opportunities, resources, and career paths. The Student Alumni Association is an active member of CASE ASAP District III.
CASE ASAP Network Conventions
Each summer, thousands of student advancement professionals and their students throughout North America come together to represent their institutions and learn best practices while networking and recognizing outstanding student advancement programs. SAA attended the CASE ASAP Network Convention for the first time in August 2011 in
Nashville, Tennessee
and the

annual convention this past August in Indianapolis, Indiana

CASE & CASE ASAP District III Conferences
Each winter, students and advisers representing student advancement groups from the southeastern region come together at the district conferences to exchange ideas and best practices on successful programs, membership recruitment, and problem-solving techniques. SAA has attended the district conferences held in
Raleigh, North Carolina
,
Auburn, Alabama
, and will host the upcoming 2013 District III conference right here in Atlanta, Ga.
Presentations
CASE ASAP Network Conference (August 2011 in Nashville, TN) - ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics’, which focused on creating a successful student alumni program.
CASE ASAP Webinars are a series of webinars on topics such as exploring careers in advancement, student philanthropy, and membership recruitment and retention. SAA had the pleasure of kicking off the 2011 series with their ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics’ presentation that they presented at the previous network convention.
CASE ASAP District III Conference (February 2011 in Auburn, AL):
‘Relay for Membership: The Race to 1st Place’, which focused on SAA’s record breaking year of gaining 1,000 members in 3 months and becoming the largest student organization on the GSU Campus.
‘Developing the Foundation for a Winning Team’, which focused on creating and maintaining a strong board of directors as the foundation of our organization.
CASE District III Conference (February 2011 in Atlanta, GA) – ‘Strengthen Your Alumni Program with Current Students Relationships’, which focused on the benefits of the Alumni Association creating a student focused program.
