Mark your calendars for our next installment of the Senior Brunch and Learn series on February 13 at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. In celebration of Black History Month, we will focus on the history and development of African-American literature in the United States and traditional storytelling. Dr. Elizabeth West, a professor of English at Georgia State University, will present a lecture addressing the impact of gender, race, class, and spirituality on early American and African-American literary works. Following Dr. West, we’ll be joined by award-winning Master Storyteller Mama Koku, who will be sure to have you on your feet as she brings popular oral folklore to life! Members $10.00, Non-Members $20.00.
